Men’s Tennis Passes FSU ranking 3rd in ACC

On Friday, March 29th, at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center, the Men’s tennis team battled hard against the Florida State Seminoles, resulting in a 4-1 victory. This is the first time since 2013 that the team has beat the Seminoles, and fourth overall win against them in State history. With both teams being tied for 4th place in the ACC before the match, this now puts State in 3rd to advance.

Right from the start of the match it was a foreseeable win for the Pack due to the 2-1 victory in doubles. This was followed by a tremendous fight during the singles matches, each player giving it their all. Saveljic finished (7-6), (5-7). Galarneau fell short in a tough match-up (1-6), (2-5). Babelis (6-2), (6-6). Barkai (7-5), (6-2). Malyshev having been the last match played in an intense face-off (2-6), (6-2), (6-3). Turzak (6-2), (6-3).

This was the men’s fourth straight win in the ACC, leaving them ranked 23rd. They are now sitting at a substantial 14-7 overall record.

The Pack will head to Chapel Hill on April 3rd at 4 pm. Cone Kenfield Tennis Center to face off against the Tarheels in their next ACC match.
