RALEIGH – On an early October night in Raleigh the Pack could not seem to find the net in the first half, but that all changed at the 50:57 mark in the second half when the Wolfpack offense found the back of the net with a beautiful header from Junior Tanner Roberts. Roberts’ goal, his fourth of the year, sparked the Wolfpack offense.
The Wolfpack defense came to play tonight only allowing the Bruin’s one shot on goal all night. The great defense helped spark the offense that had a trio of goals in the second half. The scoring began in the 50th minute when Roberts found the net on a header. Less then 8 minutes later in the 58th minute the Pack’s freshman forward David Loera found the goal for his first time in his young Wolfpack career. Not to be outdone, in the 85th minute Redshirt Junior Ade Taiwo scored his first goal of the year, sending the student section in to a frenzy when he took his jersey off and tossing it into the stands.
The game did not come without drama though not long before Taiwo’s goal he and the Belmont goalie Alex Seeley got into a little scuffle, which made the redshirt Juniors goal all that much sweeter for Taiwo and the Wolfpack faithful. This was also Taiwo’s first goal since his 2016 season was cut short. After the game Taiwo said, “I am person who always wants to play, to be back on the field it feels good.”
The Wolfpack are back in action on Friday as they travel to New York to take on the orange of Syracuse.
